OXENFORD NEIGHBOURHOOD WATCH: MEET THE CANDIDATES MEETING GOLD COAST ALBERT DIV 2

Last night's meeting of Oxenford Neighbourhood Watch was our biggest one yet. Eighty-five people were present including many state, council and mayoral candidates.

The meeting was organised to give the residents of Oxenford the opportunity to meet the candidates running for Division 2 in the upcoming council elections. When the state elections were also called, we decided to ask The Hon. Margaret Keech to speak as well and mark Boothman, the LNP candidate for Albert. On the night we also met with Adam Hollis - Katters Australian Party (Albert) and Amanda Best the Albert candidate for Family First.

News of this upcoming meeting quickly spread through facebook and on the night we welcomed Mayoral canididates Dean Vegas and Susie Douglas.

Amazingly in an hour and a half every single one of the candidates spoke and we also managed to see to all the NHW business - from minutes of the last meeting and the Area Coordinator's report to the Treasurer's report and the reports from our two Police Liaison Officers Sgt Doc Newman and Sgt Andrew Lake! We like to run our meetings nice and tight.

After the meeting we had a couple of hours of socialising during which time everyone met, mingled and exchanged contact details.
