With this in mind, Oxenford Neighbourhood Watch will sponsor 4 residents to attend an 'Apply First Aid' 2-day course.  Apply First Aid is the minimum qualification required by Work Health & Safety Legislation for the workplace first aider. 
Oxenford Neighbourhood Watch will sponsor four residents to complete the Queensland Ambulance Service ‘Apply First Aid’ course, valued at $141.00 per person, which is conducted at the VMR Southport base between 8.30 and 4.30 on a Saturday and Sunday. There are no pre-requisites required for this course and its validity is 3 yrs for the First Aid element and 1 yr for the CPR component.

The benefits of this to our community are:
- Four more Oxenford residents become qualified First Aiders – to everyone’s benefit in the community
 - An Oxenford resident improves his chances of getting a job if a job seeker
 - An Oxenford resident can become his/her workplace's 1st aider
 
To be considered to attend this fully paid Apply First Aid course you must :
·         Be aged 18 or over
·         Be an Oxenford resident – and live within the boundary of Oxenford Neighbourhood Watch as per  map alongside (click map to enlarge image)
·         Be able to attend the course before 31st  December 2012
