DOES NEIGHBOURHOOD WATCH WORK ?

According to statistics from the UK, Neighbourhood Watch members in active schemes, who follow crime prevention advice, are 68 times less likely to be a burglary victim.

Insurance industry statistics show that houses in active Neighbourhood Watch schemes (and if you live in Oxenford - you certainly are part of a very active scheme)  have a 1 in 344 chance of being burgled compared to a national average of 1 in 20 if you are not in an active NW scheme.

Those members in an active NW scheme and follow crime prevention advice, in putting the correct locks on their windows and doors etc. reduce the chance of being burgled to 1 in 1350.
