DRUG DEALER IN YOUR AREA? DOB!

Are you fed up with stealing and burglaries happening in your area? You may not have been a victim of such a crime yet but in some way you are indirectly affected by these crimes from higher insurance premiums, higher prices for shop goods due to retailers having to cover stolen stock.

It is a known fact that a large number of property offences are committed to exchange for drugs or to sell for cash to purchase drugs. Do you have any suspicious activities in your street that you suspect is drug
dealing?

Some indicators that drug dealing is occurring at premises may include:

Different cars constantly stopping for short periods of time, an occupant of the vehicle then visits the house for a short period and then leaves.
Chemical or other strange smells.
Numerous different visitors to the address who look unhealthy.
Curtains are constantly closed at the premises or the windows are blacked out in some manner from the inside such as dark plastic.

There could be a perfectly reasonable explanation for what you have seen. However there may be drug dealing occurring and your information may be the last bit of information police require to be able to take action.

What do police need?

Police would like you to keep a record of what you have seen such as time, date and a description of what you observed such as registration numbers of vehicles. Some good citizens have even discreetly video recorded the suspicious behaviour.

The Police do NOT want you to put yourself in danger in order to obtain information.

Who to contact?

You can attend or contact your local police station (Coomera Police Station - Tel 55195555) with the information or you can contact crime stoppers 1800 333 000.

Will the offenders know who told police? No!

No way -  the offenders will not be told who gave the information to police. You are protected and police can not be forced to disclose the source of the information and can commit an offence if they do.
