Well, the Youth Centre is booked for Tuesday 11th May at 7pm. The speaker will teach us the basics of CPR and will also bring a defribulator along - so if you’d like to join us, you are very welcome!
Around 40 local residents attend each meeting as well as local Cllr John Wayne who always updates us on local happenings and developments. Our group also has two Police Liaison Officers in attendance - Sr. Sgt. Doc Newman from Coomera Police Station’s Traffic Branch and Sgt Andrew Lake who works in Service Operational Procedures at Brisbane’s Police H.Q.
At every meeting both officers update those present on local crime trends and statistics and both are very approachable and available to answer any questions you may have. After each meeting, we allow an hour or so for everyone to meet and mingle and free drinks are provided. A long-standing ‘bring-a-plate’ tradition means that there are also free nibbles – and I’d like to thank those lovely people who always bring snacks, because to the Neighbourhood Watch volunteers who come straight from work, these munchies often constitute ‘dinner’.
