OXENFORD THEFTS FROM CARS

On the morning of Tuesday 9th February property was stolen from 12 vehicles in the Regatta Waters area. All the vehicles had been left unlocked either in the driveway or on the roadway by their owners. Four males from Upper Coomera have been arrested after being located by patrolling police officers. No other vehicles were broken into.

Since early November there have been 24 cars broken into in our NHW area. Of those vehicles 15 were parked in Regatta Waters. Many of those vehicles were left unlocked or otherwise insecure. Under the Transport Operations (Road Use Management - Road Rules) Regulation drivers are responsible for turning off the vehicle engine, removing the ignition key and locking the vehicle when they leave it.

Apart from the risk of a fine, locking the vehicle will reduce the risk of theft. Always lock your vehicle when you leave it on the roadside or in the driveway.
