We had a great meeting this evening - Cllr John Wayne spoke and brought us up to date on the local issues he is working to achieve for the Oxenford area including footpaths and dog walking areas. We had three representatives from the Gold Coast Ju Jitsu Academy demonstrate some self defence moves and our Police Liaison Officers Sgts Doc Newman and Andrew Lake gave their reports on crime and traffic issues in our area.
Thanks to all who attended - it wasgreat to welcome some new faces to our group and many thanks to those of you who continue to bring a plate of food to share. Many of us on the committee arrive at the meeting often straight from work and it's so nice to be able to have a sandwich and a cuppa with you all after the meeting during 'social' time.
Our next meeting is Tuesday 11th May and the speaker's topic will be CPR - so a very 'hands-on' and valuable skill will be learned.
