PROJECT TARGETS FRAUD AGAINST SENIORS
The Queensland Police Service Fraud and Corporate Crime Group is calling for volunteers to take part in research examining the issue of seniors and online fraud.
It is estimated that each year thousands of seniors are targeted and become victims of online fraud.
This proactive project will include a survey of 80 community members aged over 50 who have either been approached to take part in a scam or have been the victim of an online fraud.
Anyone wishing to take part in the survey is asked to contact Dr Cassandra Cross fraud.research@bigpond.com or at the QPS Community Safety and Crime Prevention Branch (07) 3234 2111.
