Knowing that we were facing a hefty bill to replace the aged and missing (stolen) Neighbourhood Watch signs in our area, Councillor John Wayne was able to donate a further $200 to our group today.Together with the $200 that Councillor Wayne donated at the beginning of November 2008, the cost of replacing the signs is now completely covered. This means that monies we will raise through other efforts such as the bowling voucher drive, can now be put towards other projects in 2009 and towards the ongoing running costs of our group.
Councillor Wayne attends our quarterly meetings - where he both listens to residents' concerns and updates us on local happenings. It is because he attends that he is aware of our needs and we are extremely grateful to him for these unsolicited donations.
We consider ourselves very lucky to have him support our group in more ways than one.
