DON'T DRINK AND DRIVEQueensland Transport and Regent Taxis have partnered to introduce the FlatFare taxi service to Gold Coast City. The service is now operating from the secure taxi rank on the southern side of Cavill Avenue, Surfers Paradise, every Friday and Saturday night from 11pm to 5am.
The FlatFare service reduces waiting times at ranks by grouping passengers travelling in the same direction into maxi-taxis, with prices based on a zonal system. The fares are cheaper than a normal taxi, and are paid at the commencement of the journey. The service has already been successful in Brisbane and Townsville, and assists in getting passengers home quickly and safely.
