Yesterday we received a cheque from Councillor John Wayne towards the administration costs of our Neighbourhood Watch group.
This unsolicited contribution of $200 from Cllr Wayne could not have come at a better time. A recent audit carried out by Sgt. Andrew Lake revealed that the cost of replacing the aged/missing NHW signs in our area will come to $255.
Neighbourhood Watch signs provide a visible deterrent to criminal activity and identify a particular area as having active Neighbourhood Watch participants whose valuables are most likely to be marked for identification and whose state of alertness plus home security measures are likely to be heightened.
