GRAFFITI REMOVAL

The most effective way to prevent further graffiti is to clean it up quickly. Gold Coast City Council supports a policy of Rapid Removal of graffiti and offensive graffiti is given priority and is usually removed within 24 hours. The Council offers a FREE service and will remove graffiti from a private property provided the damage is accessible from a public space.


Call Council’s hotline on 5581 7998 to report graffiti on your property and arrange for its removal. They also provide free graffiti removal kits so you can easily and quickly clean your own property. Kits are available from all Council Offices.

To remove graffiti you can always try methylated spirits, mineral turpentine, paint stripper and even oven cleaner. These products contain toxic chemicals however so wear protective clothing, including a mask and always ensure they are stored out of children’s reach in a locked cupboard.
