SO.... WHAT HAPPENS AT OXENFORD NHW MEETINGS?

If you haven't attended one of our meetings before - you might be wondering what they're all about.

Well, the next get-together of Oxenford Neighbourhood Watch takes place on 13 May– we meet at the Oxenford and Coomera Youth and Community Centre at 7pm. The meeting itself lasts about an hour and we always have an interesting speaker in attendance.  Free nibbles and drinks are available after the meeting when we all ‘stay behind’ and chat for roughly another hour - staying behind is not 'compulsory' of course - but many of us do and  catch up with each other, meet new neighours, talk to our local member / councillor etc.

Our Police Liaison Officer Sr Sgt Andrew Lake attends every meeting and brings up to date with the latest happenings and statistics for our area. Cr William Owen Jones always attends too and updates us with Div 2 news and events. When Parliament sittings permit, our State Member for Albert, Mark Boothman MP is also present and ‘stays behind’ too to chat with us all.

Our speaker for May  is Raylee Taylor, Chair for Care For Life Suicide Prevention Inc. Care For Life provides information relating to suicide prevention and bereavement by suicide to organisations and community members, through training and community forums. Care for Life also provides resources for the prevention of suicide in young people.

If you haven't attended one of our get togethers before - you are very welcome to join us and we think you'll find it is a very worthwhile evening.
