CRIME REPORT - JUNE 2018

There has been an increase in reported crimes during June, including several ‘serious’ offences committed. At two of the four burglaries, cars were stolen, one of which was later located burnt out at Ormeau.
With modern cars, burglaries are used to steal cars, either for transport or on-selling. Whatever you do, don’t leave your keys on the kitchen bench or on a hook and always lock the door between your house and garage. Another tactic is to break into cars in the driveway and use the garage remote controller to get into your house. – it makes criminal’s life simple.
Also, this month, there has been a “car-jacking” (robbery with threats of violence) at an Oxenford shopping centre when a young lady was waiting in an idling car.  Whilst the offenders have been arrested, it is an unfortunate reminder that it may be best to lock the doors, when waiting in the car whilst someone is in the shops.
