During October, six crimes were
reported to police, all involving vehicles. Two cars were broken into with
wallets or purses being stolen. One of these offences was solved when an
offender was intercepted in Southport (whilst driving a stolen car) and was in
possession of the cards.
I cannot emphasise how
important it is to take all valuables out of your car overnight. Stealing from
cars is endemic right across South East Queensland as thieves know easy cash is
always available and Pay Wave makes using stolen credits cards easy.
In two offences, someone
decided to slash the tyres on cars parked on Michigan Drive, causing a lot of
pain for no reason at all.
If you want to hear more about
the reported crimes in our area, attend the next NHW meeting at 7pm on Tuesday
14 November at the Youth and Community Centre.
