Australian Road Safety Foundation - Project Oxenford

According to research from the Bureau of Infrastructure and Regional Development, Queensland road fatalities rose from 223 deaths in 2014 to 242 deaths in 2015. This reversed a three-year trend in which the number of national road fatalities had been declining.

Our Neighbourhood Watch has just taken delivery of 30 wheelie bin stickers depicting life size children. The stickers, from the Australian Road Safety Foundation, have been designed to provide a real-time reminder to motorists to reduce their speed.

In the weeks ahead we’ll be
looking for new homes for these wheelie bin stickers and would like
to hear from local residents who may be able to help.

Areas of interest are Michigan Dr, California Dr, Riversdale Rd, Regatta Avenue and Graywillow Blvrd.  In particular we are hoping to hear from families that live near an Oxenford Day Care centre, Kindy or the State School or who are located near a playground or bus stop.

If you could display one of these stickers on your wheelie bin, please contact us via oxenfordnhw@email.com and please let us know your location. One of our committee members will personally come to your home on a Monday (bin day) and affix the sticker for you. We have 4 designs – of both boys and girls.
