CAR IMMOBILISERS GOLD COAST

An engine immobiliser is an electronic device that interrupts the power supply to two or more systems required to start a vehicle’s engine. It may be fitted at the time of manufacture or after purchase. A vehicle fitted with an immobiliser will not start unless the correct electronic signal is provided by the ignition key and transponder. The signal to de-activate the system changes constantly, making it virtually impossible to crack.

Immobilisers became mandatory equipment on all new passenger vehicles sold in Australia from July 2001.

Devices that meet the Australian/New Zealand Standard for Vehicle Immobilisers 4601:1999 provide the most effective security available for vehicles. These devices will deter all but the most determined of professional thieves.

All immobilisers that meet the Australian Standard are self-arming. This means that the immobiliser is automatically activated when the ignition is turned off. The Standard was developed by industry experts, ensuring that the immobiliser cannot be easily overcome by thieves and will not affect the safe operation of the vehicle.

If your car does not have an immobiliser, consider having one fitted. Gold Coast based installers include:
