There's going to be a new school nearby which is due to open in January 2011
This new state school will open in East Coomera (on Finnegan Way) and is already seeking enrollments from Prep to Year 7. The location is great for anyone who commutes to and from Coomera Train Station as Finnegan Way is the second turning on the left after the train station on Foxwell Road.
The first key date for enrolments is September 16. Out-of-catchment enrolment applications will be processed on this date. Applications will be approved where places are available. It is important to have your applications in BEFORE this cut-off date. Another out-of-catchment process will be undertaken later in the year.
At a recent community meeting, school name suggestions were finalised to one of a possible two.
Coomera Rivers State School
Coomera East State School
The names will be forwarded to the Minister of Education for approval. The Minister will then notify the school as to the final selection.
