If you're an Oxenford resident you may have noticed a tall, thin young man who always seems to be running around our neighbourhood's streets. I often see him running along Michigan Rd and on Riversdale Rd too.
This evening, when I visited the ABC Radio website to add a Community notice about our group's forthcoming Awareness Day, I spotted a picture of him - and he's Marathon Royalty so to speak....
He's the winner of the 2008 Gold Coast Half Marathon and his name is Michael Shelley. Here's his pic (courtesy of the ABC Radio website) and click here to read the accompanying article. He is competing again this year....
In the background you will notice that the pic was taken along Riversdale Road - and you can just see one of the 'Duck Crossing' street signs that local resident and our very own NHW photographer Sarah Gordon was successful in campaigning for with the help of our local Councillor John Wayne.
