CRIME REPORT - FEBRUARY 2016



During the last month there have been five crimes committed when it was made easy for the criminal.  With one car stolen with the keys in the ignition and valuables stolen from four cars which had been left unlocked. 
Unfortunately, the days of being able to trust the general community are long gone.  If you aren’t in your car, it must be locked and valuables should be taken out or hidden from plain view.  As the saying goes, Lock it or lose it.
One-way screws. The Gold Coast District Crime Unit with Volunteers in Policing will be installing one-way number plate screws for free at the Oxenford Bunnings Store on Saturday 19/03/2016 between 10:00am – 1pm. Number plate theft is a constant problem on the Gold Coast and you can prevent being a victim.
Burglary
07/02/2016 Paddy Place: Unknown person gained entry to the victim's house by unknown means and stole the victim's wallet, mobile phone and car keys. The offender tried to start a car with the keys, but it would not start.
Theft of motor vehicle
26/02/2016 Cottonwood Place: The victim had left the keys in the ignition of her Hyundai hatch whilst unloading the vehicle. Unknown male offender entered vehicle and drove off.  Vehicle was located at Waterford and unknown male offender was seen to leave in another stolen car.
Steal from motor vehicle
12/02/2016 Leo Graham Way: The victim left his mobile phone on the passenger seat of an unlocked Isuzu truck.  An unknown male has reached into the truck and taken the mobile phone.
19/02/2016 Cottonwood Place: Unknown person stole a mobile phone from the victim's unlocked car whilst it was parked in a shop carpark.
23/02/2016 Global Plaza: The victim had left her handbag on the passenger seat of her Ford utility whilst unloading and returning the trolley.  An unknown person has removed the victim’s purse and mobile phone from her handbag.
25/02/2016 Texas Court: The victim has left his Nissan utility unlocked in the driveway of the incident address. The unknown offender has stolen the victim's wallet, iPhone, iPad and other valuables from the vehicle.  The offender has also made a number of fraudulent transactions with the victim's credit cards.
Stealing of vehicle registration plates
15/02/2016 Ruth Terrace: Unknown person stole the front and rear number plates from the victim's Mitsubishi sedan whilst it was parked in front of the victim's house.
