The February 2012 meeting of Oxenford
Neighbourhood Watch was
our biggest yet - 85 people attended including many state
and council representatives and two mayoral candidates.
The meeting was originally organised to give the residents of
Oxenford an opportunity to meet the candidates running for Division
2 in the council elections. When the state elections were also called, we
asked Margaret Keech to speak as well as Mark Boothman, who was then the LNP
candidate for Albert. On the night Adam Hollis from Katters Australian Party
and Amanda Best from Family First also addressed those present.
We also welcomed mayoral canididates Dean Vegas and Susie Douglas. Amazingly, in an hour and a half, every one of the council, state and mayoral candidates (9 in total) spoke and we also saw to all our NHW business - including reports from our two Police Liaison Officers, Sgt Doc Newman and A. Sr. Sgt Andrew Lake.
